Boca Raton Shopping Center, Florida

The City of Boca Raton contracted with Renaissance Planning Group (RPG) to develop a new public transportation system for a community dominated by an obsolete, car-oriented shopping mall. As RPG’s lead architect, Ms. Galvin redesigned the mall site in keeping with best practices in pedestrian-oriented, transit-ready site design and development. The mall and parking lot became walkable blocks lined with; streets, sidewalks, trees, storefronts and windows. Ms. Galvin also produced visualizations of “before and after” site plans, perspectives and guidelines.
