Galvin Architects was hired to develop design guidelines for the segment of the US 29 Corridor that passed through Fauquier County, VA. The intent behind the guidelines was to memorialize the area’s Civil War history, while promoting walk-able destinations along the US 29 Corridor. Six character districts and four gateways were identified and assigned a “This Hallowed Ground” planting scheme. “Before and after” conditions were illustrated (with 3-dimensional graphic support provided by Richard Price, AIA, Charlottesville.)
