Crozet, Albemarle County, VA

The Crozet Master Plan was Albemarle County VA’s first attempt to implement its pedestrian-oriented, smart-growth management policy, known as the “Neighborhood Model.” Ms. Galvin, as the Renaissance Planning Group (RPG) lead architect on the project, devised the concept of “Place-types” as a way to apply the Model’s principles for walk-able, compact, inclusive development and redevelopment. The Crozet Master Plan won a Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) Award for the Region.
