Nelson County, VA

Galvin Architects assisted the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) and Nelson County Planning Department with updating its Comprehensive Plan and visualizing that Plan’s goal of channeling development into designated growth areas as way to preserve farmland and forested areas. The strategy that emerged revolved around the concept of “Place-types” of which there were three (3); Small Town, Mixed-Use Neighborhood and Rural Village. Galvin Architects developed “before and after” site plans and photo-simulations in order to communicate these concepts to the general public.
